This Test Preparation Training is for anyone who wants to become a certified interpreter. If you are taking the interpreter certification this training course will take the mystery out of the exam for you. This portion of the interpreter certification is to test your ability to make quick ethical decisions that can be supported by the Code of Professional Conduct (CPC) in a variety of ethical settings.

There are two ethical questions that are presented with an ethical scenario and the interpreter’s ethical decision for that scenario, and the candidate will be requested to give one of two ways to respond.

1. Agree and support the interpreter using the CPC tenet and illustrative behaviors.

2. Disagree with the interpreter’s ethical decision making and support your reasoning using the CPC tenets and illustrative behaviors.

You have to be prepared to be tested in a variety of different ethical scenarios that are covered by the seven tenets and 38 illustrative behaviors. Whether it be an ethical decision about confidentiality, respect for consumers, conduct, etc. you must be versed in how to apply the CPC to an ethical dilemma.

Every day that you are not certified you are missing out on experiencing and learning from an assignment, learning from the interpreting assignment enhances our skills for the next assignment and the next after that assignment.
