This workshop training will draw from a list of the 7-ASL expansion techniques for review and a better understanding of the techniques. The presenter will demonstrate suitable applications and use of these techniques for the purpose of a more effective communication when interpreting. This training will clarify each of the various techniques that are categorized under the seven ASL expansion categories. This training aims to augment the interpreters interpreting techniques to be acceptably understood by the Deaf consumer.
Educational Objectives:
• Participant will review and consider the cognitive understanding that supports the 7-ASL techniques.
• Participant will be able to manipulate and simulate the techniques of compare and contrast in a sentence provided in the materials.
• Participant will be able to analyze and recognize the difference between a noun listing and a general listing.
