This workshop is an overview of the history of Juvenile’s rights and/or lack of rights in court. Parents right, especially pertaining to Deaf parents. Juvenile courtroom protocols which are different than adult courtroom protocols, various Juvenile filing documents, the relationship between the minor, the attorney and the parents, and the legal terminology for interpreting in Juvenile courtroom.

Educational Objectives:

Participants will be able to identify and recall various legal terms specifically related to Juvenile court proceedings for the purposes of interpreting in a Juvenile court trial.
Participants will be able to identify and recollect for the purpose of interpreting in a Juvenile court case for criminal violations under the welfare and institutions code for minors.
Participants will examine and recognize the procedures of a Juvenile trial from the trial setting to the disposition, which are different that an adult trial.
