This workshop will, examine the process of listening to and receiving discourse, accumulating information, identifying the ideas or thoughts, and distinguishing the of the topic, establishing the cognitive process of message, and mapping the flow and direction of the discourse. This training will include a list of communicated ideas to create matching concepts in ASL. Transitioning from to transition from one mapping point to the next mapping point will be demonstrated.
Educational Objectives:
• Participants will consider and demonstrate the use of message mapping using a handout filling in the ideas to be mapped.
• Participants will examine and analyze the predictive flow of the cognitive discourse mapping process.
• Participants will examine and prioritize a list of communicated ideas and create matching concepts.
• Participants will analyze and evaluate a list of transitional words analyze that may possibly be used while cognitive mapping.
